Michigan smoking bill exempts gaming facilities

The Michigan House approved a bill to exempt commercial casinos, cigar bars, bingo halls and horse racetracks from a ban on smoking in public places.

Detroit's commercial casinos pressured lawmakers for the exemption. They say they will lose business to tribal casinos, which are not subject to state laws.

The Senate's version of the bill, however, does not exempt the casinos.
