The Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona is ready to sit down and discuss its proposed off-reservation casino, Chairman Ned Norris Jr. said.
The tribe announced plans for the casino in Glendale but officials there said they weren't told in advance. Norris said the tribe will provide the land-into-trust application for the project to the city.
Norris said the tribe wants to address concerns about infrastructure and the casino's impact on other development in Glendale. Officials are worried the city won't be able to handle the traffic and the visitors to the facility.
The tribe acquired 134 acres in Glendale using funds that were authorized by an act of Congress.
