NIGA senses recovery in $27B tribal casino industry

Tribal casino revenues have fallen in the double digits in some areas but the National Indian Gaming Association feels good days are coming soon.

"I think we're starting to see recovery now, but we can't wait for a full recovery," NIGA Chairman Ernie Stevens told RezNet News. "We have to build now."

An estimated 3,500 people were in Phoenix this week for NIGA's annual trade show and conference. A salesman for a gaming vendor said the economy is showing some signs of improvement.

"People are getting more play and some things are beginning to come around. But it's still tight out there," Chris Craft of NOVA Gaming told RezNet.
