Seminole Tribe make progress on new casino compact

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is making progress on a new Class III gaming compact, The Miami Herald reports.

The tribe has been negotiating with state lawmakers. Details are still being worked out but the tribe reportedly agreed to share $430 million in revenues this year.

The new deal would only last three to five years while lawmakers consider an expansion of non-Indian gaming in the state. In that scenario, the tribe presumably would not have to share revenues.
