The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control plans to hold a hearing on a liquor license at the casino owned by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
The tribe is seeking to expand the sale of liquor at the Chumash Casino Hotel and Resort. Alcohol, however, won't be allowed on the gaming floor.
Neighbors and local officials are against the license. The ABC received 98 protest letters and only four support letters, a spokesperson told The Santa Maria Times.
A date for the hearing hasn't been set.
