The Jamul Indian
Village of California is looking for a new gaming partner after parting ways with Lakes Entertainment.
The tribe wants to build a $230 million casino on its 6.2-acre reservation. Plans call for a 228,000 square-foot and a parking garage.
The tribe owes about $57.2 million to Lakes for work on prior casino plans. "All development related funding came from Lakes in the form of a loan to the tribe to be repaid upon opening the casino," manager Steve Davis told The East County Magazine.
"We anticipate the same arrangement with the new developer," Davis was quoted as saying.
