Creek Nation chief vetoes resolution against Kialegee casino

The Muscogee Nation should sit down with the Kialegee Tribal Town and resolve a gaming dispute, Muscogee Chief George Tiger says.

The Muscogee National Council passed a resolution that opposes the Kialegee's planned casino. Tiger vetoed the resolution, saying he promised to meet with Kialegee leaders to discuss the issue.

"The only position we have is we are going back to our traditional cultural belief that if we sit across the table from each other that issues can be worked out. It's not only this particular issue but others, as well," Tiger told The Tulsa world.

The Kialegees want to build a casino on an allotment owned by two Muscogee members. Tiger previously said that the Muscogee Nation has authority over the site.
