Chickasaw Nation aims to buy non-Indian casino in bankruptcy

The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma reached a deal to buy a non-Indian gaming facility in Louisiana that just declared bankruptcy.

Global Gaming Solutions, a tribal subsidiary, will acquire "substantially" all of the assets of DiamondJacks, according to a press release. Filings show the facility has $10 million to $50 million in assets and $100 million to $500 million in liabilities, The Shreveport Times reported.

Three tribes operate Class III gaming facilities in Louisiana. But DiamondJacks will remain under state law and regulation, the Louisiana Gaming Control Board said.

The Chickasaw Nation operates more casinos in Oklahoma than any other tribe in the state. The tribe also operates a non-Indian racetrack in Oklahoma and maintains a stake on a non-Indian racetrack in Texas.
