Cowlitz Tribe hosts forums on casino construction and related work

The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington will host a series of forums to share information about its fast-rising casino and related projects.

The first forum will offer an update on the Cowlitz Casino Project and a $15 million water reclamation plant on the reservation, The Columbian reported. A $32 million highway improvement project will be the subject of a future meeting, the paper said.

Notice of the highway project was published in the Federal Register on Tuesday. The goal is to improve traffic to and from the facility.

The tribe broke ground on the casino earlier this year and it's due to open in late spring of 2017.
