N.D. tribe to avoid burial sites in quest for oil

The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation of North Dakota plans to avoid numerous burial grounds and sacred sites as it moves forward with plans to drill for oil on the reservation.
The tribe conducted a survey of potential oil sites under Lake Sakakawea and on land.
A surprising number of target sites were located next to burial grounds. When the lake was created, it flooded tribal lands.
The tribe still has other options for development. The survey found potential sites on about 480,000 acres away from the lake.
