No Amber Alert for missing boys from Red Lake

Authorities won't issue an Amber Alert for two boys who went missing from the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota because there is no evidence they were abducted.

Avery Lee Stately, 2, and his brother Tristan White, 4, disappeared on November 22. Their family believes they were abducted but without more information, authorities won't send the alert to more media outlets and law enforcement agencies.

The boys' case, however, has drawn significant attention. They were featured in a segment on "America's Most Wanted" over the weekend.

The grandmother of a 5-year-old girl who went missing from the reservation three years ago said the boys' family should work with the media and the authorities. "Don't hide from them because you are scared, like we did. ... And work with authorities and remember that they are doing their job the best they can and that they are human beings," Lois Warner told The Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward. Anyone with information should contact the FBI at 612-376-3200, or the Red Lake Tribal Police Department at 218-679-3313.
