Court wants Tohono O'odham twins with siblings

In an Indian Child Welfare Act case, the Arkansas Appeals Court ordered twin girls to be placed with their four siblings.

The girls are eligible for membership in the Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona. The tribe recommended that they be placed together with the third cousin of their mother, who lives in Arkansas and has custody of the four siblings.

A county circuit judge had allowed the twins to be separated from their siblings. But the appeals court, citing ICWA and the tribe's recommendations, said they should be kept together.
