"There's nothing better than seeing a local person who's done well. So congratulations to Carl J. Artman, a member of the Oneida Tribe of Indians and its former chief counsel who was confirmed Tuesday to run the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs.
While Artman may call Golden, Colo., home now, his tribal ties to northeast Wisconsin make him one of ours, and he now oversees the department with the most influence over Native American and Alaskan Native issues in the United States.
We look forward to seeing him represent the Oneida Tribe and northeast Wisconsin proudly. "
