Men in custody after chase on Rocky Boy Reservation

Two members of the Chippewa Cree Tribe are in custody and face state and federal charges after a high-speed chase on the Rocky Boy Reservation in Montana.

The incident involving Curtis Denny, 22, and Macray Demontiney, 18, started at a residence close to the reservation late Friday night. The men allegedly fled tribal and county police and led them on a chase on and off the reservation.

At one point, Denny and Demontiney allegedly fired at the tribal officers. They were eventually taken into custody early Saturday morning after their vehicle was disabled by the Montana Highway Patrol.

The men are being held in a county jail while charges are being sorted out.
