Connecticut tribes to host economic summit

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe are co-sponsoring an economic summit on June 14

The Native American Economic Impact Summit is the first of its kind. “Native American gaming has become an important engine of economic growth and opportunity in Connecticut,” said Mohegan chief of staff Chuck Bunnell.

“This summit will not only bring awareness of the economic impacts that we create for the state of Connecticut, but will also build a new appreciation of tribal contributions to society; culturally, historically and socially," said Pequot chairman Michael J. Thomas.

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut is co-hosting the summit in Hartford.
