Bacone College wants Native students to succeed

Bacone College in Oklahoma is living up to its mission as a place to serve Native students, the director of the Native American Student program said.

Kyle Taylor, who is Pawnee and Choctaw, said the school offers Native students scholarships and a 35 percent discount on tuition and room and board. “Statistically, Native Americans have the lowest graduation rate of any people," Taylor tells The Muskogee Phoenix.

Bacone was founded as a Christian school. Taylor recently invited a gospel singer from the Muscogee Nation and other gospel singers to perform at the school chapel.
