Judge asked to delay Abramoff sentencing again
Monday, August 27, 2007

Federal prosecutors and attorneys for convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff are asking a judge to delay sentencing for defrauding his tribal clients.

Court papers said Abramoff continues to cooperate with the Department of Justice's corruption investigation. So far, a dozen people have been convicted or have pleaded guilty in connection with the probe.

Abramoff is serving six years after pleading guilty to bank fraud and tax evasion charges. He awaits sentencing on the charges related to his tribal clients.
