Haskell welcomes students for spring semester

Haskell Indian Nations University President Linda Warner welcomed students, faculty and staff to the Kansas tribal college's spring semester.

Warner, a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, was brought on board last year. She wants Haskell to become a "cutting-edge" school.

“We want to think that Haskell is the hallmark of the tribal college movement,” Warner said, The Lawrence Journal-World reported.

Warner announced a new study aboard program in sustainable agriculture. She said the school's board of regents will meet next week to develop a strategic plan.
