Native teen found frozen to death in Manitoba

A 15-year-old Native boy was found frozen to death in southwestern Manitoba. Police do not suspect foul play.

Kingsley Redhead was from the Shamattawa First Nation. He moved to the Canadian Forces Base Shilo in December to stay with an uncle following the murder of his older sister. His older brother had committed suicide.

"Kingsley was a very happy, outgoing little person — that's how he was until the loss of his late sister," aunt Nancy Thomas told CBC News.

Thomas said her nephew struggled with alcohol and drugs but stopped after his 15-year-old sister was beaten to death last January. A 16-year-old girl was arrested in connection with the death.
