House hearing on two Michigan land claim bills

The House Natural Resources Committee is holding a hearing this afternoon on two Michigan land claim bills.

H.R.2176 settles a land claim for the Bay Mills Indian Community by allowing the tribe to obtain land in Port Huron. The bill states the Port Huron site is eligible for gaming.

H.R.4115 settles a land claim for the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. The bill allows gaming on a site in Romulus.
