Crow Tribe signs economic development compact

The Crow Tribe of Montana has signed what is being called the first economic development compact in the nation.
The compact makes it easier for tribal enterprises and reservation residents to apply for loans. It allows banks to enforce liens in Indian Country.
The tribe is the first to adopt the Model Tribal Secured Transactions Act, legislation that was developed by the Uniform Law Commission.
