Alaska Native village wants state troopers to go

An Alaska Native village is asking the Alaska State Troopers to remove its officers from the village.

The Aniak Traditional Council says state troopers are treating tribal members unfairly because of their race. A letter says young children are being cited and fined for trapping ptarmigan and rabbits without a license.

"We respect the law and follow the law, but to be looked for and asked and checked that we are ensuring that we are not breaking the law and questioned all of the time, to me that is harassment," Chief Wayne Morgan tells KTUU-TV.

The troopers are investigating but won't withdraw officers from the village.
