San Luis Rey Band, cemetery reach agreement

The San Luis Rey Band of Luiseno Indians and a cemetery have reached an agreement to preserve a sacred site.

The tribe will receive .45 acres in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park cemetery. The site contains the most important red-rock area on the property, a spokesperson for the tribe said.

The cemetery is expanding and needed to set aside some land for cultural preservation.
