Longest Walk 2 makes way through Kansas

Participants in the Longest Walk 2 made their way through Kansas on Tuesday as they move closer to their final destination of Washington, D.C.

Walkers marched in Topeka and Lawrence. They advocated for the Kickapoo Tribe's water needs, sacred sites and other indigenous environmental issues.

"We're crossing the country trying to make people aware of what's happening in the world," Cordell Tulley, a member of the Navajo Nation, told KTKA-TV.

The walk began on February 11 on Alcatraz Island in California. It's due to arrive in Washington, D.C., on July 11, 30 years after the first Longest Walk.
