Mashantucket chairman fights arrest warrant
Michael Thomas, the chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, accused the mother of their four-year-old daughter of lying in court about the girl's custody status.

Thomas said he was granted sole custody of Rain by the tribal court system. Vanessa Hyman went to New York family court and claimed Thomas was holding their daughter against her will on the reservation.

The family court issued an arrest warrant for Thomas, who said Hyman lied by not disclosing the tribal court judgment. Hyman denied making false statements and wants Rain taken from the reservation.
