Deaths of three Arapaho girls still investigated
Authorities have yet to determine the causes of death of three young members of the Northern Arapaho Tribe of Wyoming.

The girls -- ages 13, 14 and 15 -- were found dead in a housing complex on the Wind River Reservation on June 4. Toxicology reports won't be available until the first or second week in July, an official said.

Tribal elders, however, believe drugs and alcohol played a role in the girls' deaths. They organized a meeting on Tuesday to discuss issues facing young people on the reservation.

"They were able to drink alcohol. They were able to get drugs. As a result, they lost their lives," said Jerry Redman, the chairman of the Northern Arapaho Council of Elders, The Casper Star-Tribune reproted. "We can't afford to lose more children to alcohol and drugs."

More than 160 people attended the meeting, the paper said.
