Quapaw chair on historic preservation council
John Berrey, the chairman of the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma, has been named to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.

Berrey was appointed by President Bush for a four-year term on the ACHP. He said he will bring a Native perspective to the post.

"I am honored to receive this appointment by President George Bush and look forward to serving and representing not only Native-Americans and Native Hawaiians on the Council, but all American citizens providing input from the Native perspective with zealous patriotic pride," Berrey said in a statement.

The ACHP promotes the preservation, enhancement, and productive use of the nation's historic resources and advises the executive branch and Congress on national historic preservation policy.
