Haskell University sees big boost in enrollment

Enrollment at Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas continues to rise, The Lawrence Journal-World reports.

Nearly 1,000 students signed up for classes this fall, up 11 percent from fall 2007. Enrollment is 17 percent higher than spring of this year.

Tribal members from eastern Oklahoma account for 27 percent of the student body. Navajo students account for 13 percent.
