Muscogee Nation raises minimum wage to $9.25
The Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma raised its minimum wage to $9.25 per hour.

Three years ago, the tribe's minimum wage was $6 an hour. Chief A.D. Ellis led an effort to adopt gradual increases to employees' pay.

"It's a matter of taking care of your own people," Ellis told The Tulsa World. "We're proud of that."

About 160 employees are affected by the new increase. Other tribal employees have already received their increases.
