Golden Pen: Tribal nations need to embrace change
"We as tribal nations often find ourselves stuck and confused wondering what lies ahead on our path to independence and, to some, economic independence. Do we ever ask what is better for our future as a tribal nation instead of what is better for me, the individual?

"Change" is the word in 2008, but how can we get change and what exactly is change? Rather than what can we change, to me the question is can we as a people change? Can we change the way we think about one another? The way we act towards each individual?

The key to moving forward is the way we carry ourselves, the way we act toward each other. We are so quick to judge, to point the finger when something goes wrong, without ever knowing the facts or even caring to know about them. We can change, and we can move forward."
