The Internal Revenue Service awarded a grant of nearly $20,000 to help DNA-People's Legal Services prepare tax returns for members of the Navajo Nation.

The grant is a first for DNA. The money will be used to help people with incomes of $42,000 or less file their taxes next year.

DNA provides services to about 7,000 to 9,000 people on the reservation.
