Indian couple celebrates New Year's Day baby
The first baby born in 2009 in Omaha, Nebraska, is also a First American.

Nasima Sarwary was born at 1:32 a.m. on Thursday. Her parents are Miranda Sarwary, a 27-year-old member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, and Tameem Sarwary I, a 26-year-old member of the Omaha Tribe.

"I know our family is blessed. I'm not worried about the world, the financial, economic turmoil," the new mother told The Omaha World-Herald. "I've been able to manage our budget pretty well."

The couple has four other children, ages 7 to 2.
