The Tigua Tribe of Texas is nearing completion of a kiva, a ceremonial building. The tribe began work on the kiva, a circular structure, a year ago. Work is expected to be finished in late March. "We want to be able to teach these ceremonies to our youths so they continue with them because, if we don't, little by little they will fade away," Lt. Gov. Carlos Hisa told The El Paso Times. Kivas are used by Pueblo tribes in New Mexico and Arizona. The Tiguas are the sole Pueblo tribe in Texas. Get the Story:
