Ken Salazar takes over as Interior Secretary
Former Sen. Ken Salazar of Colorado takes control of the Interior Department today under President Barack Obama.
Salazar is due to arrive at the department's headquarters in Washington, D.C., at 10am, where he will be greeted by officials and employees on his first day of work as overseer of the Bureau of Indian Affairs and
the Office of the Special Trustee
for American Indians. He also plays a role at the National Indian Gaming Commission.
The Senate confirmed Salazar and five other Cabinet nominees on Tuesday, after Obama was sworn in as the 44th president of the U.S.
