Rosebud leader backs rural service nominee
A leader of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe says a fellow South Dakotan will help Indian Country as head of the Rural Utilities Service at the Department of Agriculture.

Council member Robert Moore said nominee Jonathan Adelstein is familiar with tribal issues. He expects President Barack Obama's pick to improve technology on reservations.

"I think we can see a lot of development and growth tied to computers, for tribes and education and the development of small businesses. It's a great tool for us to build economic development," Moore told The Rapid City Journal.

Adelstein currently serves on the Federal Communications Commission. He was an aide to former Sen. Tom Daschle (D), a strong tribal advocate.
