The FBI is investigating an assault of a Baptist pastor on the Navajo Nation.
Tom Patterson, 60, of the Morningstar Baptist Church, said he was attacked by a younger man on March 28. He suffered serious injuries to his face and may have to undergo eye surgery.
The incident was reported to the Navajo Nation police on March 28. But the FBI wasn't informed until this week, The Gallup Independent reported.
Paterson said he had a previous run-in with his attacker. “This could have been retaliation,” he told the paper. “Now I’m speculating. I don’t know if that true or not.”
