New Mexico agency completes consultation plan
The New Mexico Environment Department is seeking comments on the final draft on its tribal consultation plan.

The department will consult with tribes to develop its tribal policy and will consult with tribes on decisions affecting tribes, according to the plan.

On February 1, 2005, Gov. Bill Richardson (D) signed Executive Order No. 2005-004 directing 17 state agencies, including the Environment Department, to adopt pilot tribal consultation plans to address department operations and interaction with tribes.
