Gila River Tribe attracts business to reservation
The economy has slowed development but the Gila River Indian Community of Arizona is managing to attract new business to the reservation.

The tribe has leased land for the first McDonald's on the reservation. The location is near a major highway and near the tribe's casino and other businesses.

"This is a growing area," Esther Manuel, the general manager of the Lone Butte Development Corp., the tribe's commercial arm, told The Arizona Republic.

The McDonald's will open in September.
