Judge won't force reinstatement of Ward Churchill
A judge won't force the University of Colorado to reinstate controversial former professor Ward Churchill or pay him wages.

In April, a jury said Churchill was wrongfully fired and awarded him $1 in damages. But Judge Larry Naves vacated those findings and ruled that the lawsuit against CU's Board of Regents was barred by a type of immunity.

Churchill, whose Indian heritage has been repeatedly questioned, vowed to appeal. He said he was fired because he made politically controversial remarks about the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
