Matt Hecox, a 22-year-old member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, announced a bid for the Oklahoma State House.
Hecox will seek the Democratic nomination for District 44. He plan to make education a priority if elected.
Hecox is a senior at Oklahoma University. He expects to graduate in May with a degree in history.
