White Earth candidate who lost by 28 votes seeks a recount
A member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe Indians of Minnesota who lost his election by 28 votes wants a recount.

Kenneth Coleman ran for District II Representative. He lost to incumbent Terrence “Terry” Tibbetts -- apparently based on absentee ballots.

"We don’t want to have the absentee ballots decide who’s running our district," Coleman told The Detroit Lakes Tribune. “They don’t live here on the reservation, they shouldn’t have any say as far as the district representative goes.”

Of 176 absentee ballots, the overwhelming majority went to Tibbetts.
