Navajo Nation declares state of emergency in response to storms
The Navajo Nation declared a state of emergency in response to major storms and flooding on the reservation.

Three people died as a result of the storms. An 89-year-old woman died after her hogan collapsed on her. Lightning struck and killed a 17-year-old girl and a man who was working on a roof.

Flooding led to the evacuation of communities along the Little Colorado River. Some communities also evacuated after tornadoes were reported in the area.
