Pottery that was being repatriated to Caddo Nation still missing
Researchers at Southern Arkansas University are still hoping to recover 26 pottery items that were stolen in the summer of 2006.

The university was about to repatriate the items to the Caddo Nation of Oklahoma when they were stolen. The pots date to the mid-1500s and were recovered from an Army Corps of Engineers site in Arkansas.

“These are sacred vessels to the people in the Caddo Nation,” researcher Jamie Brandon told The Texarkana Gazette.

The pots were hand-made and were in pristine condition. Photos and information of all of the items can be found at http://www.projectpast.org/sau/SAUCedarGroveMissingList_v3.pdf.
