Alaska Native committee spends $1.26M to back Sen. Murkowski
Alaskans Standing Together, an independent expenditure committee largely funded by Alaska Native corporations, has spent at least $1.26 million on its campaign to support Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) in her write-in campaign.

The corporations have spent the most of any third-party group in the election. They are hoping to turn out the Native vote for Murkowski, who has a strong record on government contracting, law enforcement, health and other tribal issues.

The effort includes mailings to Native voters to show them how to fill in the ballot for Murkowski.
