Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community installs fence

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community recently installed a fence after discovering that a popular trail was encroaching on the reservation.

The tribe informed the city of Scottsdale about the boundary error. Trespassing signs have been put up to inform residents.

Tribal members value the land in its pristine state and hope others will appreciate the natural beauty that is being protected," spokesperson Levi Long told The Arizona Republic.

The city is going to clear a new Doubletree Trail near the tribe's fence.
