White House Indian education initiative meets in Oklahoma

The second Tribal Leader Education Roundtables was held in Norman, Oklahoma, on Monday.

William Mendoza, the director of the new White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education, led the discussion. He said input from tribes will be used to develop a memorandum of understanding among federal agencies that deal with Indian education.

Two more roundtables are being held this Wednesday in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and in Seattle, Washington, on February 16.
