Poll: Obama holds edge over Romney as GOP race continues

President Barack Obama leads Republican Mitt Romney in a hypothetical matchup, according to a Washington Post / ABC News poll.

Obama's image has improved since the State of the Union last month. Views of Romney, on the other hand, have become more negative.

Romney, a former governor of Massachusetts, won the Republican caucuses in Nevada on Saturday and looks to be on his way to winning the Republican nomination. But former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who fared poorly in the Post / ABC News poll, said he won't drop out.
