Mississippi Choctaws receive $2.5M in transportation grants





The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has received more than $2.5 million in transportation grants.

The tribe received $2 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, plus another $192,000 grant. The money will be used to build a transit maintenance facility and buy transit equipment.

The tribe also received a $200,000 grant from the Department of Transportation. The money will be used to buy three public transit buses.
