Kickapoo Tribe in Texas opposes coal mining in border town

The Kickapoo Tribe in Texas is opposing plans for a coal mine near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The tribe is based in Eagle Pass, where Dos Republicas Coal Partnership, a Mexican company, wants to develop 6,300 acres. The tribe also has members across the border.

The city council and the Maverick County Commissioners Court also oppose the project.
