Navajo Post: Navajo voters look to presidential election

"As the 2012 Presidential Election gears up, Republicans make their way to Native America for support in rural Arizona. Former Presidential Candidate John McCain made his way to meet with Navajo Leaders to discuss ‘Water rights’ with the Navajo Nation. McCain also backs Mitt Romney for President and Washington insiders say Sen. Jon Kyl will might be vetted for a possible VP slot on the Romney ticket.

Back in 2008, the Navajo Nation Council endorsed Sen. Barack Obama for President. It is likely the council will endorse President Obama this year. But some Navajo republicans say it is time for a change, “we should endorse a conservative, someone that will support Navajo small business owners-Obama is killing jobs in Indian country.” said Johnny Goldtooth of Rock Point."
